Return to top of page Every repair job is a
challenge; is the repair needed because of wear or breakage?? If it
broke, why?? Some things are straight forward, others need a more
detailed study to be sure things are done right and that you, the
customer, understands what is being done and why. I will post some
examples of repairs that needed further explaining to the customer.
Note that I also shoot photos of the major stones, noting obvious
identifying features, to ease your thoughts about stone switching - having
these photos may possibly help you in the future.

LASER welding is more expensive than traditional torch
welding. However, the welding expense is often offset by
the fact that stones do not have to be removed and reset. The
LASER welder also allows welding on small filigree sections without
the melting potential of the broader torch flame. Here are a few
examples of jobs that needed LASER welding.
